Until Harry

Now Live
Like nothing you have ever read from L.A. Casey before, a story of loss, love, and finding yourself in the darkest of times.
Blurb:
He was my best friend, my best not-really-big-brother and my best protector. He was my best everything. He was mine.
Coming home is hard for Lane. Hard because Harry, her beloved uncle, has died suddenly, but also because of him. Kale.
Kale Hunt has been her best friend since childhood. But it was never that simple. He was Lane’s reason for leaving home and moving to New York. Seeing him with someone else, in love with someone else, shouldn’t have hurt. But it did. It really, really did. So she upped sticks and left, started a new life and cut herself off from her past.
But now she’s back and all the feelings are right there. As if she had never left.
Emotions are running high for everyone, and tragedy has a funny way of bringing people together. But is Lane reading the signs right? Are they still just friends, or is there something more?

Excerpt:
“Tell me what you see when you look into the mirror and see your reflection,” he urged.
I felt heat stain my cheeks. “A fat, ugly cow.”
He shook his head. “Do you want to know what I see?”
“No, not really,” I replied.
He ignored me and said, “I see a beautiful girl whose smile brightens up a room. I see a beautiful girl whose eyes are so warm and welcoming, they make people feel at ease with one glance. I see a
beautiful girl who cares for others and loves so hard it’s impossible not to love her back just as hard. I see a beautiful girl who is so stunningly gorgeous, she will break her father’s and brothers’ hearts when she realises just how incredible she is and decides to give her heart to another. I see a beautiful girl who just doesn’t see how beautiful she really is.”
That was it; I was once again a blubbering mess.
“Damn you, Kale Hunt,” I cried, and turned to him once more, wrapping myself around him.
He held me to him and kissed the crown of my head. “There isn’t a hair on your head that isn’t beautiful, Laney Baby. Everything about you is beautiful; I’ve known that since the first day I saw you.”

"He was my best friend.
My best -not really- Big brother
and my best protector"
A story of love and loss, a love story so raw and intense it breaks your heart in two only to slowly put it back together towards the end. So many emotions in one book, truly a beautiful yet heartbreaking story written by one of my favourite authors
La Caseys talent is amazing, her ability to create such beautiful and captivating stories with a handful of letters leaves me in absolute awe, I'm so glad I took a chance on Dominic way back when. It's led me here to finding one of my favourite stories of all time.
Let me warn you before you dive into this book it's nothing like you've read from LA Casey before, make sure to have tissues on hand. I finished this book and spent 15 minutes silently crying to myself for everything I experienced whilst reading it. #ALLTHEFEELS, even now writing my review I'm not sure I'll find the words to truly do it justice.
Lane has been through a lot. She's loved, she's lost and she's given up so much. Leaving home to avoid what was breaking her heart. After 6 years she's forced to return home to face everything she left behind, to come face to face with the one man she's always loved but couldn't have, Kale. Discovering things she didn't know it really is a rollercoaster of a journey.
This story flicks back and forth between past and present, it gives you so much insight into what these characters have been through. Until Harry broke my heart not just once, but over and over again.
I was so emotionally invested in this book, I found myself feeling everything that Lane and Kale were feeling. When they spoke about the past or visited their lost loved ones that's when I found myself breaking the most. Feeling the sadness, the heartbreak and reliving the memories alongside them.
I've read everything La Casey has written and whilst I love them all, I can easily say this is my favourite. I'm so so glad that she took the chance on writing something different, you can easily see she's put her heart and soul into this story.
When I thought I couldn't take anymore heartbreak or cry anymore tears La Casey picks up, mends your broken heart and leaves you feeling so happy and content you cry for an entirely different reason. Gah, it's truly a beautiful book.
I absolutely adore this story, it's one that I'll stay with me. I highly recommend this, 5 stars just doesn't seem enough.
La Casey thank you for taking a chance on something different. Thank you for sharing Until Harry with the world. This book has truly reminded me why you're one of my favourite authors.
