One story, two completely different couples
This is the second installment to The Retrieval Duet, i loved the first book as soon as i finished i couldn't wait to get my hands on this one. I wasn't disappointed. It was intense, full of angst and emotion and damn sexy in some places. It's fast paced, action packed and totally epic conclusion to the series.
Transfer picks up where Retrieval ended. The rescue of Clare Noir and her daughter Tessa from the hands of her horribly abusive husband Walter. Clare's whole world is turned on it's axis, she finds out her personal trainer, only friend and the only small escape she has outside of her home isn't who he said he was. He is infact, Heath Light. Undercover DEA agent with only one mission, making sure the woman he cares deeply for is safe along with her little girl. He'd do anything to protect her, a promise he keeps when events unfold and a whole heap of shitty events, twists and turns take hold of their lives.
Clare and Heaths lives merge with Elisabeths and Romans, with the DNA of Tessa still unknown they offer them a home and the promise of doing everything they can to keep them both safe and away from the hands of Walter Noir. During the time they stay together both couples form friendships stronger than they've ever had, leaving them with a bond that will overcome any obstacle thrown at them. The character dynamics and relationships are so amazing.
This story blew my mind, i couldn't have asked for a better conclusion. Both parts of this series gets a full 5* from me. I love all of Aly's work but this is by far one of my favourite series.
Author Bio:
Born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, Aly Martinez is a stay-at-home mom to four crazy kids under the age of five, including a set of twins. Currently living in South Carolina, she passes what little free time she has reading anything and everything she can get her hands on, preferably with a glass of wine at her side.
