Broken Completely, utterly broken. To be able to fall inside a book, live and breathe every word and emotion of the story and become so lost in it, is an awfully big adventure.
Carmen Jenner has yet again blew my mind, gripped hold of my heart and squeezed it so hard i struggled to breathe and felt like i was going to burst. I'm not used to this kind of read from Carmen so to tell you i was excited would be an understatement. I wish i could tell you that this is your typical friends to lovers romance... I wish i could share that its all rainbows and unicorns but we all know that isn't Carmen.
I can tell you that Harley and Rose wasn't at all what i expected to be. I created images in my mind of how this story would go, i had so many expectations. I was slightly scared that the story wouldn't be what i wanted it too. I was so wrong, it blew all my expectations out of the water and i wasn't at all prepared for how much this story would claim my heart and consume every thought even days after. Everything i previously thought about this book did not at all do these characters justice.

Harley and Rose have been best friends since they were children. It was almost inevitable that they would fall in love. Yet life got in the way, mistakes were made, their paths were different. But no matter what they always found their way back to each other. Their love is one so pure and real, the kind of love that will forever leave a stamp on your heart. One that is destined to last lifetimes given the chance. However nothing Harley and Rose ever did has been that simple, their lives have been a series of one big adventure after the other, loves and losses. For Rose, Harley has always been everything. I have so much i want to say about this book, but i feel everyone needs to go in with an open mind. It's a story that needs to be experienced without knowing too much about it. I want to scream about how Harley and Rose have truly buried themselves inside my heart. How this story was so much more than i thought i needed. I want to share that Rose has a part of my heart i never want to give back. I had so many what if's when i finished this book, but i've come to realise that their story was perfect for them. It's broken my heart that they wasted so much time, but it healed knowing their love for each other was always so strong. I never cry in books, i pride myself in keeping my emotions in check. However i can tell you that Harley and Rose broke me, they left me fighting my way through tears with a tight chest and a heavy heart. I sobbed for what i knew was coming, i sobbed because i wanted to take Rose and hold her close I wanted to hug her so hard and whisper that no matter what everything would be okay. I struggled for breath on more than one occasion, yet through everything Rose was one of the strongest heroines i've known.

I fell so deeply in love with Harley and Rose, Carmen Jenner always has been and definitely still is one of my all time favourite authors. One that no matter what she writes i will always take a chance on. Her ability to create such captivating stories and strong willed, beautiful characters is awe-inspiring. The way she can create characters that stay strong, no matter what they face. I urge you to read this book, go in completely blind. Let this book bleed every emotion from you and trust that the journey is worth it to witness the all consuming love between two people that given everything were meant to be. So give your heart and soul to Harley and Rose, and cherish "The boy who never wanted to grow up, and the girl who needed him too."
