Excerpt
I pull her into me, trying to put her, me, our life back together with my embrace. Her arms find my waist, and I hold her in the middle of the driveway, swaying back and forth in a moment I’ll never, ever forget. The feeling of my world careening back into focus, into the places it should be, nearly drops me to my knees with my girl in my arms.
“I should go in,” she says, looking up at me.
“It’s cold in there.”
She shrugs and I see her start to slip away from me again. Frantic, I struggle to find a way to stop it.
“Let’s go for a drive,” I suggest.
She looks at me warily.
“It’s just a drive,” I promise. “The house can warm up and then I’ll drop you back off, if that’s what you want. What can it hurt?”
“You won’t try to make out with me or anything, right?” she teases. “Because I know that look in your eye, Tyler Whitt.”
“Only if you ask,” I wink, opening the door to my truck and watching her climb in. Before I shut it, I lean in and whisper into her ear. “Hey, E.”
“Yeah?”
“Please ask.”

This is the first book i've read by Adriana Locke and it blew me away. The emotion and love in this story captivated me from beginning to end.
Everything about this book rocked my whole world. The love, the emotion and the heartbreaking path Ty and Elin had to take to find themselves crushed me.
I'm in awe of the way Adriana's mind must work to create such a work of art, to create characters you can love and create stories that keep you captive until the very end.
Elin Whitt is left broken and devastated when her marriage to her highschool sweetheart comes to an abrupt halt. She was such a real and raw character, after everything she had been through she remained stronger than most heroines i've read about. Everything she felt, i felt with her. As if her own heart was mine.

Ty Whitt was easy to love, he wasn't an asshole that you wanted to hate. He knew he had to save his marriage, his wife and himself. He left, not because he wanted to but because he felt it was better for them both. Little does Elin know it broke him just as much as it broke her.

There's no doubt that this is a romance, but its so much more. It's more than just a love story, its story of how life and love can break the strongest of people but also heal them if they give it chance. I struggled with the emotion of this book, i may not have cried but i finished the book with the weight of the story, the message behind it crushing my chest.

It truly is an amazing story, it'll hold you hostage until the very end. It'll squeeze you tight to the point where you can't breathe. Adriana has set the bar high for her future books, because although this may be my first book by her i know that no other book she writes will compare to this one.
